Tip 168 – Stay Safe by Automatically Backing Up your Word Documents

To ensure you always have a backup of your work you can set Word to create a backup of your Word file every time you save it. To do this, in Word 2010 & 2013 choose File > Options > Advanced and scroll to find the Save options. check the Always create backup copy and click Ok. In future you will find your backup files saved in the same folder as the original file € it will have the extension .wbk.
