Time limits for the computer

Whether it be squabbles over who gets to use the family computer, or you wish to limit how much time your children spend on your computer, sorting this out by yourself is not easy, but thankfully we have a solution.

If you have more than one child at home, and only one computer they share, one way to ensure each child gets equal opportunity to use the computer is to install timesupkidz.com. This allows you to limit how much time each child can use the computer for with some manual overrides in case you want to reward the child extra time on the computer. It is not intended this program be used instead of proper parental supervision and time management training. The program costs USD29.95 but you can use the program for 30 days free of charge to test it out before you pay for it.

If you want to allocate a certain amount of time to each child, they each need to have their own Windows user accounts (Not Administrator accounts). Refer to our June 2015 issue for instructions. Once that is completed, go to www.timesupkidz.com and click the download button. Once the file has finished downloading, run it to initiate the installation.
