Tip 192 – Easily Find Unusual Characters in an Excel Worksheet

If you’re looking for characters such as an asterisk (*) or question mark (?) in an Excel worksheet you’ll encounter problems. These symbols are used as wildcards so they represent other characters so you cannot search for them as you would any other keyboard character. Instead typing ~? or ~* in the search box will find the character in the worksheet rather than it being used as a wildcard. Locate the tilde (~) character in the top left of your keyboard.
